This privacy policy describes how Comprobare ("we", "us", "the application") collects, uses and protects information when you use the Comprobare desktop application or visit comprobare.com. We aim to keep this short and plain.
1. Who we are
Comprobare is operated by the Comprobare team. For any questions about privacy or your data, contact us at contact@comprobare.com.
2. Data the desktop application handles
Stays on your computer
Drawings (DXF, PDF, scanned plans), measurements, groups, project files (.cpb), application settings and language preferences are stored locally on your device. They are not transmitted to us.
Sent to us only when needed
- License key validation — when you activate or renew a license, your key and a non-personal hardware identifier are sent to our license server to confirm the license is valid for the station.
- Update checks — the application periodically checks our update server for a newer version. The check sends only your current version number and operating system.
- Crash reports — if the application crashes, you may be asked whether to send a diagnostic report. This contains technical information about the failure and never includes your drawings.
3. Data we collect on the website
The website uses minimal analytics to understand which pages are visited (page URL, referrer, country, browser type). We do not use cross-site advertising trackers. The site uses a single functional cookie to remember your language preference.
4. Payments
License purchases are processed by PayU, a third-party payment provider. When you pay, you provide your details directly to PayU; we receive only the confirmation and the data needed to issue an invoice (your name, company name, billing address, VAT number, email). We never see or store your card details.

5. Why we hold your data
- To deliver the application and updates you've licensed.
- To verify that licenses are used on the number of stations they were purchased for.
- To issue invoices and meet our tax/accounting obligations.
- To respond to support requests sent to support@comprobare.com.
6. How long we keep it
License records are kept for as long as the license is active and for the period required by accounting law afterwards (typically 5 years in the EU). Support emails are kept for up to 24 months. Update-check and analytics logs are anonymised and retained for no more than 12 months.
7. Your rights
Under GDPR and applicable laws you have the right to access, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to its processing. To exercise any of these rights, email contact@comprobare.com. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Sharing with third parties
We share data only with the providers required to run the service: PayU (payments), our hosting provider (serving the website and the installer), and our update / license server provider. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.
9. Security
License and update servers are accessed over HTTPS. License keys are stored hashed. We follow industry-standard practices for protecting our infrastructure, but no system is perfectly secure — please report any suspected vulnerability to contact@comprobare.com.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify license holders by email. Continued use of the application after changes constitutes acceptance.
